VIVA Member, Alena Mack, shares her inspiration and meaning behind her work for January’s Show, “Women Hold Up Half the World.”
These pieces are perfect together, or separate. We will start with the necklace ‘Omni’.
Omni represents the many directions that we as women are pulled to try to conform to society’s expectations in the world today. It is hard to stay centered when we are pulled (and pushed) to conform to so many roles while trying to be good at each one.
This is where the earrings, ‘Chalice’ come in; to remind us of our divine feminine; of the divine feminine within each and every woman. To remind us of our power and strength as protectors, as nurturers and that we can be our bold sacred selves while reflecting the divinity and strength of all women past, present and future. - Alena Mack
