Woodworker Adrian Ugo is VIVA’s August Guest Artist!

A statement from the artist:

Woodworking has given me a unique opportunity for expression, and I am grateful to be able to pursue this passion. I attempt to personally invest myself in every piece of wood I work with, and my process includes the firsthand acquisition of much of the raw material. I pay close attention to the way every tree, log, and board is cut and handled each step of the way.

Using simple shapes and minimalistic lines, I aspire to design and build artistic and functional pieces that highlight the intrinsic beauty of the material I work with. I enjoy experimenting with balance, proportion, and angles to produce unique and challenging designs.
